1979 Death of Ansgar Gulleson (Born 1897)

Ansgar Gulleson … (Around age 20 or so)

We have records of Ansgar filling in a draft registration for the First World War in 1917-1918 while in Minnesota. He listed his employment as farming, and listed his father, Edward, as his employer.

In 1922 he came with his father and sister, Sophie, to Ruby, Washington, where he worked in the logging camp. After Edward and Jeffery moved to Grays Harbor, it seems Ansgar stayed in the Ruby area.

Did Ansgar sometimes go as Oscar? An Oscar Gulleson lived in Ruby, Pend Oreille in 1930 and was listed as the head of the home. It seems he was still living in Ruby when Edward died in 1941. It appears he enlisted in the U.S. army on August 8, 1942. He would have been 45 years old at that time. My sister Inez says she remembers as a small child seeing a man in uniform in our home in Satsop, Washington.

The family lost touch with Ansgar; but my father, Jeffery Gulleson, his younger brother, was informed of his death in 1979. From death records we know that he died in Oroville, Butte, California, on March 2, 1979, at the age of 82. In fact his Social Securit5y number, 536-07-2392, was listed on his death certificate. He was born Nov. 4, 1897

Gudrun married John Lien (1919???) and had three children: Annie (d. 2001), James (d. 2000) and Helen (d. 2002).

1988–Death of Nelma (Gulleson) Brudvick (Born 1911)

Nelma married Oscar Brudvick in 1948. She was 38 at the time of her marriage. Oscar was 44. They had one child, Edward, born in 1949. He had some congenital disorder (multiple sclerosis?) and never was able to care for himself or walk.

1999 — Death of Sophie (Gulleson) Kilde (Born 1901)

Sophie married William Kilde in 1923. They had five children: William (1923-81), Edward (1925-1977), Virginia (1926- ), Emily (1929-2000), Ronald (1930- ).

2000 — Death of Ingolf Jeffery Gulleson (Born 1905)

Jeffery married Bernice McConnell in 1934. They had six children: Joseph Dee (1934-1939), Georgienne (1937-1999), Inez (1939- ), Jeffery (1941- ), Richard (Skip) (1943-1973), Nelma (1946- ). Joseph died while having a tonsillectomy handled by a Dr. Foote.
